Before establishing care with SolHaven, we ask all families to attend one of our required group orientations, offered several times each month. This complimentary orientation is an important first step in getting to know our practice and understanding what it means to receive care with our team.
During orientation, you will tour the SolHaven space, learn about our approach to midwifery care, meet our owner, and hear what you can expect throughout your pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience. We will also review our general fees and financial process.
We believe strongly in transparency. We never want a family to enter care unsure about what to expect, whether that relates to their care, their options, or their financial responsibility. Orientation gives you the opportunity to ask questions, gather information, and decide whether SolHaven is the right fit for your family before moving forward.
To establish care and reserve a place on our schedule, a $500 non-refundable Midwifery Concierge Fee is collected at your initial prenatal appointment. We intentionally limit the number of families we welcome each month so we can give every family the time and attention our model of care depends on. This fee covers the work of setting up your care and reserves space on our calendar for your estimated month of birth.
If you request care before your initial prenatal appointment, such as having labs or an ultrasound ordered, $250 of the Midwifery Concierge Fee will be due at that time.
When you choose to establish care with SolHaven, we will collect your insurance or healthshare information, if applicable, and prepare a personalized financial estimate. Your fee agreement will include a monthly automatic payment schedule based on your anticipated care.
You can also meet with a member of our billing team to review your estimate in detail, discuss your payment schedule, and ask any questions you have. Our goal is for you to understand your financial responsibility from the beginning, with no unexpected surprises later in your pregnancy.
SolHaven Birth Center is not currently in-network with insurance plans. We are actively working toward insurance contracts so families can use their in-network benefits with us.
In the meantime, every family receives an individualized estimate based on their out-of-network benefits, along with a discounted self-pay estimate. Every insurance plan is different, so our billing team will review your benefits and walk you through both options. You choose the one that works best for your family.
As we become contracted with insurance plans, we will provide an updated fee agreement reflecting your in-network benefits. We will also announce new insurance contracts on our website and social media so families know when these options become available.
Financial circumstances should not automatically prevent someone from receiving midwifery care. If your family is facing circumstances that make our standard payment schedule difficult, please let us know. We are happy to have an open conversation about alternative payment arrangements and available options during your financial meeting.
Pregnancy and birth do not always follow the plan we start with. If you transfer out of SolHaven’s care, we will review the services and care you received and adjust your account based on the applicable fees. If your final balance is less than what you have paid, any eligible refund will be issued accordingly.
Everyone receives a personalized estimate based on their specific insurance plan. Each price covers prenatal, birth, and postpartum care as one package.
Insurance contracting is in progress. At launch most families are out-of-network, and our in-house biller submits out-of-network claims on your behalf. We will accept Medicaid for birth center care once contracted.
It means your full course of care is billed as one event at three points, rather than charging you for each individual visit.
Yes. We create a personalized monthly payment plan, with a $500 deposit at your first visit and the balance paid by 36 weeks.
