MIDWIFERY CARE

Individualized care across your whole pregnancy journey

The midwifery model of care is built on a close, trusting relationship between you and your care team. At SolHaven, that relationship is the whole point. We care for low-risk families in North Mankato and across southern Minnesota with longer visits, real continuity, and a midwife who knows your history by the time you go into labor. You choose where you give birth, in our birth center or at home, and the same team supports you either way.

THE CONTINUUM OF CARE

One team, from your first visit to six weeks after birth

Prenatal Care

Longer appointments, extended lab work, and time to actually talk. Your first visit runs about 90 minutes, and the clinical portion is with your midwife, not a nurse.

Labor and Birth

Birth supported as a normal, healthy process, with as little interference as possible. Water birth is available in our custom oversized tubs, and a midwife is on call 24 hours a day.

Postpartum Care

We come to you. A home visit on day one and again at one week, then in-office visits at three and six weeks, with breastfeeding and newborn support throughout.

Birth center or home, your choice

SolHaven offers both birth center and home birth from day one. Some families want the dedicated suite, the oversized tub, and the team a few steps away. Others want to stay home. Both settings carry the same midwives, the same safety standards, and the same relationship-centered care. We will help you think through which fits your family.

Well-woman care that fits your life
Care at SolHaven is not only for pregnancy. Our certified nurse-midwives, offers well-woman visits, so you can get personal, knowledgeable care without the drive. It is a simple way to stay connected to a midwife you trust between pregnancies and beyond.
Midwifery care is for low-risk, healthy pregnancies

Our care is designed for families with low-risk, healthy pregnancies, the same eligibility standard our accreditation requires. What sets SolHaven apart is how individual that care feels inside those guidelines. If you are already pregnant and considering a switch, we welcome transfers into our care up to 38 weeks of pregnancy.
